My best thought at the moment is that there is some shenanigans going on with app developers and using or downloading their app is triggering the download of another app behind my back. So I have no idea what the heck is going on here. Actually it may have never been on my iPhone previously but rather my Apple TV, and it's not on there anymore. I can't say it WAS today because.I had previously downloaded HBO Max (and thus showing an old purchase date) but had long been deleted off my iPhone. I know it wasn't on my home screen after downloading "Dust" yesterday (a video streaming app), so it had to have happened sometime later, likely today. I wound up blowing off the first event as a possibility that I accidentally tapped it to download (it came around the time I downloaded something else), but the HBO one is more muddling. I certainly haven't gotten any requests to authorize anything else. I re-checked iCloud and again, the only devices signed in are mine and under my control. It absolutely was not there yesterday when I downloaded a different app and subsequently re-arranged the apps a little. I go back and there it is, on my 2nd home screen. I'm looking over my iPhone and I see HBO Max is listed in "Recently Added". I spoke with Apple and they kinda shrugged it all off since I wasn't charged anything and simply suggested I change my password, which I did. I verified that I was only logged in on devices I own, and no, no one has access to any of them. It was a "free" game that I had never heard of no interest in and most certainly didn't download, yet sure enough, I found it on my iPhone. The first time a few weeks ago, I got an email from Apple asking if I authorized an app download. Hey guys, so I've twice now experienced a perplexing issue.
